Obituary of Ila Rose Kibbee
Ila Rose Kibbee (82) of St. Maries, passed away April 14, 2012 with her loved ones by her side. Ila was born in Emida, ID on May 26, 1929 to Mark and Myrtle (Brown) Derry. She was the oldest of eight children. She went to school in St. Maries and Plummer. Spent some of her youth in Sanders. In 1947, Ila married Roy "Bob" Kibbee. They lived in Emida for 51 years. They were best friends and life partners. The couple shared many interests including carpentry, camping , antique cars and the love of animals. Ila spent much of her time in her garden and the out doors. She loved feeding the wild birds. A very creative person, Ila was an artist, musician, seamstress, quilter and she had a large doll collection of over 200 dolls she made herself. Ila was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 1998 and brothers Jim and Gene Derry. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jerri and Jerry Moore of St. Maries area. Also surviving are her brothers Larry and Lewis "Butch" Derry of St. Maries and Paul Derry. Sisters Marketa Apperson of Corvalis, MT and Barbara Sperber of St. Maries. Ila's life were her children. A very devoted mother and grandmother to 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who also survive her. She will be remembered fondly and profoundly by her family and the times they spent together. At her request, a private burial took place on Monday, April 16th. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Maries. No other services are planned.
