To all of Maxine's family,
What a wonderful neighbor and friend Maxine has been to us. We will always miss our many "over the fence" conversations as we all did our yard chores. Maxine was unique and it is unfortunate that we never really got to know each other until after we had retired from work and had time for more visiting
She handled her health issues with courage and optimism and we never heard any complaints from her.
The family can be content in knowing that she often expressed her pleasure in her family, the care she was receiving and how proud she was of her family.
We will definitely miss her.

What a wonderful and loving lady. Aunt Maxine always had a great sense of humor and a loving and kind heart. She will be missed. She is now in the loving arms of her hubby Uncle Jim. You all have a special angel looking down and watching over you. May Jesus wrap his loving and healing arms around you as you mourn your loss of a great lady. Love to all of you.

The Spooner's were like family to me but Maxine especially being a part-time mother, friend, advisor, and story-teller. We had logged alot of hours at her kitchen table, trying to get caught up on all the funny stories from around town. And if you'd sit there drinking coffee long enough, the screen door would bang shut as one after another of her kids would come over to see what the latest was with Maxine. It was like grand central station sometimes. We shall miss your laughter and smile and courteous ways. Thanks for sharing your shadow in that wonderful garden, up on the hilltop. Our sincerest condolences to the family. Will be thinking of you always, Maxine.

I had just gotten to know Maxine from working up at Valley Vista. She was a sweetheart; very appreciative and never judgemental, no matter what. My Dad always praised her cooking; said you couldn't make a better pie than Maxines! I am so glad I got to meet her and I will miss her sweet words so very much.
Love, Ashlee Margaret

The yellow house on Washington Avenue with the white picket fence will always be Aunt Maxine's home in my eyes. Her home was her sanctuary. I can't count the times I saw her working away in her yard when I walked by through the years. She had quite the "green thumb" as everything was always kept up so nicely. How ironic that her home address of # 2012 is the same as the year she went home to the Lord.
I will always appreciate the concern she had for Dad (the best man in her wedding) these past couple of years as his health began to fail. May she rest in peace
