Obituary of Gary W. Beaver

Gary W. Beaver (69) resident of St. Maries died May 28, 2015 at Kootenai Health. He was born November 3, 1945 to Fay and Rose (Ferguson) Beaver at El Centro, CA. Gary graduated from Oroville High School Class of 1963. Following graduation, Gary attended college for 1 year. While Gary was in high school, he had his first date with Marjorie Gould, they were married on January 16, 1965 in Reno, NV. They started a family in Oroville, CA. when their son Mark was born. Two years later they moved to Lewiston, ID where Gary went to work for an auto body shop. He also worked on the Orofino Dam. Their daughter Dawn was born in 1968. In June of that year the family relocated to St. Maries. Gary went to work for Leonard Gurmer in a little body shop that is now known as New Generation Salon. Gary left the body shop and went to work for Mottern Ford. He later also worked for Ken’s Custom Body Shop. After he left Ken’s, Gary went to work for Roman’s Roofing out of Spokane. Gary later opened his own body shop called Beavers Body Shop. Gary finished his career logging before he retired. Gary was a gifted man with many talents. In 1981 Gary made a 12 foot ax of fiberglass in three days and it was placed in the hands of the Paul Bunyan statue outside of the Heyburn Elementary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, jeeping, camping, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends. Gary is survived by his wife Marjorie at the family home. His son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sheila Beaver and daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Jerry Sampson all of St. Maries. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
