Obituary of Lucille Rose

Lucille Rose (87) lifetime Harrison area resident, died April 22, 2012 at Shoshone Medical Center, Kellogg, ID. She was born June 16, 1924 to Seneber and Rose Ann (Torchie) Hill at Harrison. Lucille grew up in St. Maries, ID and graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1942. Following graduation, she attended Kinman Business School in Spokane, WA. After her graduation in 1944, she returned to Harrison and taught a business class at Harrison High School. She married Douglas Rose on Nov. 25, 1945 at St. Maries. They made their home at Spokane where she worked for an area grocery store. She and Doug returned to Harrison in 1947 and she went to work for the City of Harrison as the City Clerk. In 1958, Lucille went to work for the Kootenai School District and served as the District secretary and clerk until her retirement in 1982. Her husband died in 2008. Lucille enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and craft work. She also enjoyed oil painting and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a passion for Latte's. She was a member of the Harrison Baptist Church, TOPS # 338 of Harrison and the Harrison Senior Citizens. Lucille is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Gail and Ray Chatfield of Rose Lake, ID and her sister Mrs. Floyd (Jeri) Cardwell of Hayden, ID as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law Marcia and Gary Chatfield and sister Jenny Hyde. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday May 5, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. At the Harrison Senior Citizens Building 109 E. Pine, Harrison. The event is will be potluck and all family and friends are encouraged to attend and share memories.
