Obituary of Judy Jo Miller

Judy Jo (Robinson) Miller, treasured mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 30, 2015 after a brief illness. An incredible woman, beautiful both inside and out, Judy will be remembered for her compassion, her humor, and her generous spirit. Judy was born December 9, 1947 in St. Maries, Idaho to Leonard B. “Skip” & Polly (Brown) Robinson. Born and raised in St. Maries, she attended school, excelling in the performing arts, including theatre and vocal performance. After graduating from St. Maries High School in 1966, Judy attended Lewis-Clark State College to study under her mentor and music professor Stuart E. Churchill. Judy performed in several theatre performances while in College, including many lead performances. After leaving College, Judy moved to Portland, Oregon where she modeled for The Broadway clothing stores and developed a wonderful group of friends during this time. On February 14, 1979 Judy married Robert “Bob” Miller. They welcomed a daughter, Britney Ann, on July 10, 1981. Judy devoted her time to others – volunteering for her daughter’s school activities and supporting local charities including The Rosemont School for Girls along with many hours of volunteer work with senior citizens. Judy hosted many gatherings at her beautiful homes, both in Portland and in her summer home on the St. Joe River, creating special memories that are treasured by her extended family and friends. Judy had an incredible ability to make others feel so special – her caring and compassion will be forever unmatched. Judy and Britney were inseparable and had an extremely close bond. Judy was thrilled when Britney and her husband welcomed their son Mack , who instantly became Judy’s constant companion. Judy is survived by her husband, Bob Miller of Tualatin, Oregon, daughter and son-in-law, Britney & Adam Renner of Portland, Oregon and grandson, Mack Robinson Renner of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by her step-sons, Todd Miller and Trevor Miller of Portland, Oregon, brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy & Karen Robinson of St. Maries, Idaho and two nieces and families, Alaina Gilligan of Boise, Idaho and Jenna Fletcher of Chicago, Illinois. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Skip & Polly Robinson, brother, Ron Robinson, father-in-law Joseph Miller, mother-in-law, Kitty Miller, and sister-in-law, Jo Clayree Miller. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be sent to the Brenden-Colson Center for Pancreatic Care at Oregon Health & Science University or the Lustgarten Foundation, a National group committed to advancing the scientific and medical research related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of Pancreatic Cancer. A graveside service is planned June 6, 2015 2:00 pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries, Idaho. A gathering of family and friends is planned following at the Cormana Building in St. Maries, Idaho.
