Obituary of Doreen McCall

Doreen McCall (67) resident of Clarkia, ID, died August 28, 2015 at St. Maries, ID. She was born December 13, 1947 to Herschel “Joe” and Mary (Gallagher) Flint at Eddyville, NB. Doreen grew up in Vaneta, OR until she was 12 years old and the family moved to Bonners Ferry, ID. The family lived in Fernwood , before moving to Santa, ID. She married Eugene Clifford Spray in 1965 at Santa, ID. They were divorced in 1979. She met Glenn McCall in 1980 while living in Fernwood. They were married in 1981 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. They made their home on Finn Creek where their family was raised. Doreen then moved to Clarkia, ID. She purchased the Wagon Wheel in Clarkia. Later, she and Glenn built the Timberjack Bar and Restaurant in Clarkia. While there, she enjoyed her monkey Sampson, a White Faced Capoochin. She operated the bar and restaurant for 15 years. Doreen then closed the bar and tore the building down. Doreen opened the Country Café in Fernwood and ran the business for 10 years. Animals were Doreen’s life. She closed the business Country Café in Fernwood which gave her more time to focus on her hobbies. She and her husband Glenn bred and trained miniature horses. There were many nights spent in the barn delivering foals. She loved her baby horses. Doreen is survived by her husband Glenn at the family home in Clarkia. Her son and daughter-in-law Russell and Deanna Spray of Fernwood, ID and son Terry Spray of Lewiston, ID also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Brant and Kellie Sines of Fernwood, ID and her mother Mary Flint of St. Maries. She is also survived by step-daughters and their husbands Della and Ed Kennon and Brenda and Jock Bittner all of St. Maries, ID. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
