Obituary of Janice Irene Kingsley

Janice Irene Kingsley (77) passed away in St. Maries, ID on September 1, 2015. Jan was born to Keith and Cathern Michael on August 24, 1938 in Davenport, WA. She grew up in Emida, ID. Jan graduated from St. Maries High School in 1956. Following high school she attended beauty school in Spokane graduating from there. In 1961 Jan married Ken Farrell in Spokane, WA where they made their home. They opened Ken and Jan’s Barber and Beauty Shop. The business was closed in 1972, and she became a homemaker raising her children. Her husband died in 1984, and she returned to St. Maries in 1985. Upon her return to St. Maries, Jan went to work at Benewah Community Hospital as a cook from 1986-1989. She married Bob Kingsley on April 29, 1989 in St. Maries. The couple enjoyed traveling taking a cruise to Alaska and a couple trips to Branson, MO. Jan enjoyed craftwork, babysitting grandchildren, camping, and visiting with her friends at Resor’s. She was active in her church and involved in bible studies. Jan is survived by her husband Bob at their family home, son Rick Farrell of Spokane, son and daughter in-law Joe and Julia Farrell of Spokane, step-sons and daughters in-law Dave and Shawn Kingsley of Coeur d’ Alene, and Dick and Paola Kingsley of Coeur d’ Alene; her daughter and son in-law Stacey and Paul Jensen of Portland, and step-daughters and sons in-law Wendy and Richard Wilks of Coeur d’ Alene, and Linda and Bob Lario of Paonia, CO. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters in-law Roy “Punk” and Linda Michael, Doug and Debbie Michael, and Frank and Doris Michael all of Emida, brother Duffer Michael of St. Maries, sister Linda Frazier of Richland, WA, sister and brother in-law Judy and Rick Turner of Emida, 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Alan “Mule” Michael, and her sister Peg Guenther. A memorial service has been scheduled for September 5, 2015 1:00 pm at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. Maries. A gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow at the church.
