Obituary of William H. Crane

William H. Crane (87) passed away in St. Maries, ID on September 7, 2015. He was born in Tekoa, WA to William C. and Florence R. (McDonald) Crane on June 22, 1928. He grew up in St. Maries attending the Lincoln school until the 8th grade. Following his schooling, he went to work in the woods. Bill married Betty Lou Moore on April 16, 1949 in St. Maries. Bill loved his family and his dog. He was a kind, giving, hardworking man who was always in the woods or in a truck working. He retired from Jack Buell Trucking after working over 30 years for them. Bill was a 57 year member and past president of the St. Maries Eagles Lodge and he enjoyed every minute of it. Bill enjoyed taking drives with his wife Betty. He also enjoyed music and dancing, but most of all he enjoyed going to coffee with his brother Jack. Bill is survived by his daughter Lynda Crane of Coeur d’ Alene, son and daughter in-law Jim and Helen Crane of St. Maries, and son John Crane of St. Maries. Also surviving are his sister Shirley Burton of Lewiston, ID, sister in-law Leslie Crane of St. Maries, ID , grandchildren Lesa Crane of Colville, WA, Amy (John) Lunde of Sandpoint, ID, Marcie (John) Morris of Surprise, AZ, and Jerry (Courtney) Crane of Post Falls, ID, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Crane, and his brother Jack Crane. A memorial service is planned for September 26, 2015 11:00 am at Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. A gathering of family and friends will follow to share a meal at the Eagles Lodge in St. Maries.
