Obituary of Mildred Evelyn Allen

Mildred Evelyn Allen, 89, resident of Fernwood, Idaho passed away at home on November 26, 2015. She was born to Lawyer and Sadie Asbury on July 11, 1926 at Alder Creek in St. Maries, Idaho. She attended grade school in Emida, Idaho and graduated from St. Maries High School in 1944. Following high school, Mildred worked at a restaurant in downtown St. Maries. She married Johnnie Renfro in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. The couple made their home and started a family in Santa, ID. During their marriage, Johnnie and Mildred loved to travel. Mildred stayed at home to take care of her children. Mildred later married Melvin Allen. The couple loved to fish and camp together. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flowers, playing cards, baking, and cooking. She loved cooking for her family and it was a thrill when she got to do so. Mildred was a 42 year member of the St. Maries Eagles Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by her son and daughter in-law Ernie and Sue Renfro of Oroville, CA; daughter and son in-law Evvie and Mick Pannell of Fernwood, ID; brother in-law Ralph Capaul of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; and sister Edith White of Osburn, ID. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by her son Ed Renfro and grandson Bruce Pannell. A memorial service is planned for Thursday, December 10, 2015 11:00 am at the Community Presbyterian Church in St. Maries, ID. A gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.
