Obituary of Ruby JoAnn Garner

Ruby JoAnn Garner (75) resident of Santa, ID, died Dec. 9, 2015 at her home near Santa. She was born May 17, 1940 to James and Dora (Mueller) Blankenship at Russellville, Arkansas. Ruby grew up in Tillamook, OR where she attended school. She married Larry Riggs on Nov. 19, 1956 at Yakima, WA. They made their home at Tillamook where she was a homemaker and raised her family. In 1972, Ruby received her Certified Nursing Assistant training at Tillamook General Hospital. At this same time, Ruby received a Home Health Care certificate from the State of Oregon. She was divorced in 1982. Ruby married Obe Sheldon in 1982 at Tillamook. He passed away in 1995. Ruby then married Eldon Garner on April 30, 1999 at Newport, OR. They moved to Fernwood, ID in 2002. Ruby was a member of the Fernwood Comm. Church. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ruby is survived by her husband Eldon at the family home. Daughter and son-in-law Renee and Mike McLeod and step-daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Jim Reiger and Susie and Tom Reiger all of Tillamook, OR. And Step-sons Don Sheldon and Jim (Joyce) Sheldon both of Tillamook, OR. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son DeWayne Riggs 5 brothers and 2 sisters. A Memorial service will be Monday December 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fernwood Comm. Church.
