To Bonnie, Jeff, Scott, Traci and Darby,
You all have been on my mind for awhile. Last night, I had a dream about me being at your home in Cave Lake eating and having fun like we did so many times. I thought it was time we visited again after all these years. When I was trying to find your telephone number on the internet, I came across the obituary for Russ. We are both so sorry for you all. Tears are rolling down my cheeks as I write this. It just doesn't seem possible. You were all so kind to me and to Denise during our time in northern Idaho. I love you all.....have special memories of each of you......and wish it would always be just how it was. But, such is not possible for if it were, many, many people before us would have invoked that intervention so as not to lose our loved ones. I want you all to know the tremendous amount of respect that I have always held for Russ and all the rest of you. I love you all and wish it weren't so.

Bonnie I'm so very very sorry for your loss of your husband and best friend. There is so much I'd love to say, but truly the only thing that seems to come is I'm sorry. He is going to be missed greatly and words can not express it. So I will just say life here in the northwest in our little part of the world will not ever be the same with Russ gone. I'm living else where and I can pretend he's still here but you can't so I'm truly truly sorry. He will be missed. Bonnie I pray I see you soon. I will miss the funeral. But I'll be there. My sincere condolences to Russ's family. My heart goes out to all of you. Russ was a great friend and brother in Christ. From the first day we met, picking cranberries, some years back; it seemed we had a special bond. I always enjoyed visiting with this brother and sister Bonnie.
As much as we will all miss him; his love for Jesus has him in the best possible place. A place where those of us that are born again will join him.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all of Russ's family. There will be a big gap left in the family tree where he was. There is much joy though knowing that he is with his Heavenly Father and the family members that went before him. Decades ago, our youth grouo from Kelso Presbyterian Church in Kelso, Wa ventured to Medimont on our very first Mission trip. With no experience but Gods grace to lead us, this crew of teens n adults arrived at the campground in Medimont. One of the first to welcome us was Russ.
The entire Donohoe clan helped us create memories as each of us learned to share our passion n faith and realize the heart connections are found everywhere - if you look.
Mahalo from Maui for taking all of us into your hearts so msny years ago. Know that our gang is still together and will be celebrating w a 40th reunion in June - possibly in Spokane.
