Obituary of Lester J. Cuthbert

Lester Jordan Cuthbert (91) died February 26, 2016 in Plummer, ID. He was born April 25, 1924 in Rigby, ID to Arthur and Dora Cuthbert. Following Lester’s schooling he joined the CCC’s (Civilian Conservation Corps) and met Ruth Schick in Montpelier, ID. The couple married on June 24, 1945 in Montpelier, ID. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple July 3, 1963. Lester worked for Idapine Mills in Ontario, OR; however the mill was dismantled and placed in Grangeville, ID. The family relocated to Grangeville in 1954 and he continued working at Idapine Mills. In 1984 Lester retired from the mill. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Lester is survived by his sister Nola Miller of Fruitland, ID; daughter Margaret (Glen) Messman of Idaho Falls, ID; son Dale (Sandy) Cuthbert of Lewiston, ID; and daughter in-law Gloria Cuthbert of Plummer, ID. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Lester is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Cuthbert, son Larry Cuthbert, granddaughter Amy Cuthbert, great-grandson KiDean Cuthbert, 8 brothers, and 1 sister. A funeral service will be Wednesday March 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Plummer, ID.
