Obituary of Florence V. Willson

Florence V. Willson (94) resident of Harrison, ID passed away on March 2, 2016 in Kellogg, ID. She was born to Oscar and Hilma (Larson) Tang on May 5, 1921 in Boltineau, ND. She married Russell Willson in Rapid City, SD on November 29, 1939. While living in Rapid City, she enjoyed bowling. Her team went to many state and national tournaments. She was a member of the 600 Club. Florence worked for Piggly Wiggly grocery stores and Nash Finch. She retired in June 1981 and moved with Russell to Harrison, ID. Together Florence and her husband built their home in Harrison. She also worked with the commodity program and the food bank. Russell and Florence loved bowling in the St. Maries Senior League, and she loved bowling with her daughter in Ladies League. She also attended the Harrison Community Baptist Church. After 52 years of marriage, Russell passed away on May 13, 1991. Florence would spend many hours watching the humming birds that visited the feeders she provided. Florence is survived by her son Gordon Willson of Springfield, OR, her daughter Verlaine (John) Stein of Harrison, ID, her sister Kae Sutowski of El Cajon, CA, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 nieces and 3 nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Russell Willson, brothers and sisters in-law Alden and Albertine Tang and Rev. Gordon and Cleone Tang. The family is holding a private service.
