Obituary of Miriam R. Palmer
Miriam R. Palmer (63) resident of St. Maries, ID died March 8, 2016 at Benewah Comm. Hospital in St. Maries, ID. She was born Nov. 24, 1952 to Clifford and Barbara (Wassem) Palmer in Albuquerque, NM.
Miriam grew up in New Mexico and attended High School there. She moved to West Cliff, CO where her children were born. Miriam moved to Mat-Su Valley, AK in 1984. On May 6, 1985, she married John Mercer. During this time, Miriam was certified in gunsmithing, massage, and homeopathic medicine. She also made jewelry and sold her products at Farmers Markets and Craft Fairs. Miriam chose to stay at home and raise her children. The family relocated to St. Maries in 1993.
Miriam enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, and gardening. She also enjoyed her animals, friends, and family. Miriam lived a full adventurous life keeping her family on her toes with her humor and wit.
Miriam is survived by her former husband John Mercer of Albuquerque, NM, her son Jacob Mercer and his companion Shamber Thompson and daughter Sarah Tow and her companion Patrick Everett all of Moscow, ID. She is also survived by her brother Phillip Palmer of El Paso, TX and Sister Judy Palmer of El Capitan, NM, 4 grandchildren, and her longtime friend Jack Nitcy.
A memorial service will be Saturday June 25, 2016 12:00 pm at Cherry Bend Boat Park. A potluck gathering of family and friends will follow.
