Obituary of Charles "Chuck" R. Huskey

Charles R. Huskey (86) resident of St. Maries since 1974 died peacefully March 17, 2016 at Valley Vista Care Center. Born in Crossette Camp, AR Mr. Huskey attended school in Wichita, KS. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1946, attended Officers Candidate School in 1951 and served in the Army Medical Service Corps. His military career took him to Korea, France, and Okinawa until retirement as LTC in 1970. Charles married Mary Kimble on November 23, 1968 in Denver, CO. After moving to Benewah County in 1974, he worked at the family ranch, raised cattle, hay, Welsh Corgi dogs and catfish. He was a member of St. Mary immaculate Catholic Church, Central Grange #396, and St. Maries and Moscow Masonic Lodges. Mr. Huskey’s York Rite Masonic career dated back to 1965 in Aurora, CO. Since being in Idaho he had been Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Idaho, Grand Commander Knights Templar of Idaho, Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons in Idaho, Governor of Clearwater York Rite College #135, Sovereign of St. Patrick’s Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, Prior of Idaho priory #13, Knights of the York Cross of honor and a District Deputy Grand Master, Past Worshipful Master of SM #63 AF & AM. Survivors include his wife, Mary; son, Charles (Lynne) of Littleton, CO; Sister Ellen Carroll of Ft. White, FL; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sons Toby and Mark. At his request no funeral services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc. 1042 W.
