Obituary of Eva L. Pannell

Eva L. Pannell (92) longtime Fernwood area resident, died July 28, 2012 at St. Maries, ID following complications of a stroke. She was born March 13, 1920 to Eugene and Arizona (Shook) Sharpe at Titus, GA. She grew up in North Carolina. She left school at an early age to help raise her siblings after her mother died unexpectedly. She married T. Blain Pannell on Feb. 16, 1939 at Clayton, GA. They made their home at Addie, NC where she started her family. She and Blain moved to Santa, ID in 1959. She continued to be a homemaker. Her husband died in 1999. She was an active member of the Fernwood Comm. Church. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed reading about Revolutionary War history. Eva also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, baking and family gatherings. For the past two years, she was cared for at the home of her son and daughter-in-law Mick and Evvie Pannell. Eva is survived by her daughter Lynne Crawford of Moscow, ID and son's and daughters-in-law T. Brian and Waunita Pannell of St. Maries and Mick and Evvie Pannell of Fernwood, ID.and daughter-in-law Doris Pannell of Coeur d' Alene, ID. Also surviving are her sister Elizabeth Crawford of Ashville, NC, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Tom Pannell in 2009 , grandson Bruce Pannell , grand daughter Jan Peters, brothers John and Bill Sharpe and sister Esther Buchanan. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11;00 A.M. at Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries with Rev. Stephen Peters officiating. Interment will be next to her husband at Riverside Cemetery, Santa, ID following the services. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the C.A.F. Building in Fernwood, ID.
