Gregory Hagan

Obituary of Gregory Lee Hagan

Greg was born in Moscow Idaho on March 26, 1949 to Gordon and Doris Hagan. He spent virtually all of his childhood growing up in St. Maries. He graduated from St. Maries High School, before attending the University of Idaho. He later joined the navy and served his country, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and numerous uncles before him. Greg lived and worked in California, Wyoming, Alaska and Idaho in industries that included the local sawmills, road construction, the forest service, and Salmon fishing before returning home to take care of his aging Mother. He was a very devoted son to his Mother, Doris, becoming her primary care giver. When she needed additional nursing care and became a resident of Valley Vista, he visited each and every day taking meals with her and strolling through the halls visiting all of the residents. Greg was an avid sports fan. He loved the Oakland Raiders and LA Lakers, but he followed all local and national teams. In his earlier days, he loved to fish and golf. He stayed current on all local and national news and was extremely well read on current events. Greg was the eldest of four children. He is survived by his brother Ed Hagan and sister Kristi Hagan, nephew and nieces Jimmy (and Julie) McAndrew, Ryan Thaut, Angela Thaut, Josie Hagan and Hunter Hagan. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Doris Hagan, and sister Susie (Hagan) McAndrew. Greg was a good neighbor to all who knew him and was generous to everyone. He will be missed by many but reunited with his Mother, Father and sister, Susie. The family would like to thank all of his current neighbors on 8th street in St. Maries who checked in on him regularly and became good friends. A private family gathering will occur to remember and celebrate his life.
