Obituary of Edith Marie Floch
Edith Marie Floch (85) resident of Plummer, ID passed away on July 18, 2016 at her home. She was born to Delbert and Viola Allen on February 27, 1931 in Freeman, WA. Edith grew up in Mica, WA and attended elementary school there. She graduated from Central Valley High School with the class of 1949.
Edith married Mitchell L. Flock on June 20, 1949 in Opportunity, WA. The couple made their home in Chester, WA. Later they moved in 1950 to the Minnaloosa Valley in Plummer, ID. Edith worked as a homemaker raising her 3 children. In the early 1960’s she went to work for Leo’s Worley Club. Edith left Leo’s in 1969, and in the mid 1970’s she returned to work at The Gateway Café and became manager. In the fall of 1988 Edith moved to Tekoa, WA and became the manager at G’s restaurant. In 1993 she went to work for Cross Key’s Restaurant in Tensed, ID. Mitchell died in 1995. In 2002 Cross Key’s closed and Edith went to work for Ireland’s Restaurant in Potlatch, ID. She worked there 6 months and returned to the Gateway in Plummer. In 2011 she retired at 80 years old.
Edith enjoyed reading a variety of book genres. She was a big fan of Gonzaga basketball and loved attending “Battle in Seattle”.
Edith is survived by her sons Dale (Donna) Floch of Plummer, ID and Wayne Floch and his caregiver Jamie Floch of Hillsboro, OR; daughter Darlene (Randy) Wise of Tekoa, WA; brother Gordon Allen of Renton, WA; sister Jean Arnold of Spokane Valley, WA; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Mitchell.
A memorial service will be Saturday July 30, 2016 11:00 am at Plummer Bible Church in Plummer, ID.
