Obituary of Gerald L. Twiss
Gerald L. Twiss (73) longtime Plummer, ID resident, died August 13, 2012 at St. Maries, ID. He was born May 9, 1939 to Walter and Clara (Green) Twiss at Fort Ann, New York. He grew up in New York and was educated there. He graduated from Fort Ann High School with the class of 1957. As a young man, he had a marriage that produced two daughters. That marriage ended in divorce. He moved to Plummer, ID in the 1960's and worked for Johnson's Mill. He went to work for Pacific Crown as a forklift operator in 1963. He married Ethel Johnson on May 20, 1969 at Worley, ID. They made their home in Plummer. He retired from the Mill in 2001 and cared for his wife at the family home. His wife died in 2005. Gerry enjoyed gardening, hunting when he was able and was an avid reader. He and Ethel enjoyed going dancing when they could. Gerry is survived by his step-son and wife Vernie and Margie Johnson Sr. of Tensed, ID, his daughters Lisa Twiss of Cadyville, NY. and Lucinda Bapp of Saranac, NY., Step-daughters Gail Needham of Warrensburg, NY and Ruth Smith of Senoia, GA. Also surviving are brothers Walter "Stub" Twiss of Fort Ann, NY and Robert Twiss of No. Carolina as well as his sister –in-law Eleanor Twiss and sister Genva Morrison both of Warrensburg, N.Y. . Gerry is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by step-son Harmon Altrock and 1brothers and 3 sisters A celebration of his life will be Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodge Funeral Home , St. Maries with Rev.
