Obituary of Judith M. Willsey

Judith M. Willsey (73) resident of St. Maries passed away at her home on October 25, 2016. She was born an only child to Jack and Jean Huff around Cincinnati, OH on December 26, 1942. Her family relocated to southern California and she graduated from high school in 1962. Judy attended college for Business Administration and Finance. She was educated as a florist and taught college classes in Orange County. She owned her own flower shop and was very successful in the business. Being from California she had some pretty prestige customers that she took care of by keeping their spouses happy with roses. In 1976 Judy met Tedd Willsey when they went on a double date and Judy’s date stood her up. Tedd thought the man was foolish because Judy was so beautiful, that he ended up taking her out and it started a courtship that lasted 3 years and eventually ended up in a marriage proposal. The company that Tedd worked for transferred him to Las Vegas, NV. The couple dated long distance for a couple years and decided to marry in May of 1979 in Las Vegas, NV. Judy was working at a Rite Aid when she was injured during a robbery. She broke her leg and knee and was deemed disabled, so she was unable to work after that unfortunate accident. After 26 years in Las Vegas, Tedd and Judy bought a beautiful piece of property in St. Maries, ID and relocated. He went to work at St. Maries Eye Clinic while she took care of their home. She loved taking care of her dogs and walking around their property. The couple were members of the Elks and American Legion. They really enjoyed the friends they made at the Elks. Judy enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing, playing rummy, and going out to dinner. Judy is survived by her husband Tedd at the family home, daughters Kimberly (Chris) Weebe of Sand Diego, CA and Kelli (Tony) Krasko of Monroe, WA; sons Jeffery Gouvia of Monroe, WA and Jack Gouvia of Southern CA; step-daughters Malinda Conwell of Kokomo, IN and Bridgette (Lester) Felton of Kokomo, IN; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.
