Obituary of Janet F. Bedwell

Janet F. Bedwell (82) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at Valley Vista Care Center on January 1, 2017. She was born on August 18, 1934 in St. Maries, ID to Ralph and Marina (Marquardt) Yarber. Janet grew up out in the Benewah and attended school in St. Maries. She graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1952. Following high school she married her childhood friend David Bedwell. They eloped in Blackfoot, ID. The couple started their family and Janet was a homemaker. In 1979 the family moved to Wamsutter, WY where the oil boom provided work for David. Janet went to work in a restaurant as a cook and waitress. After 20 years the couple moved to Hamer, ID where Janet worked for her brother in-law as a bartender, cook, and waitress. In 2007 her husband died, so she relocated back to St. Maries. Janet enjoyed playing pinochle with friends, baking bread, gardening, and canning. She loved her visitors at Valley Vista and hearing updates about her grandchildren. She especially loved her shows on the Sci-Fi channel. Janet is survived by her children sons John Bedwell, Tim Bedwell, and Jay Bedwell all of St. Maries and her daughter Theresa (Tim) Borley of Rathdrum, ID. Also surviving are her brother Dale (Judy) Yarber of Rathdrum, ID and sister Shirley Quigley of St. Maries, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be planned this spring.
