Obituary of Wayne E. Lomas

Wayne E. Lomas (74) resident of Harrison, ID, died Feb. 26, 2017 in St. Maries, ID. He was born Dec. 21, 1942 to Ernest and Lanore (Bliss) Lomas in Seattle, WA. He was raised in Wallace, ID and graduated from Wallace High School with the Class of 1961. Wayne then attended the University of Idaho majoring in Engineering. Throughout his life, he worked at the Galena Mine in the Silver Valley and later for Boeing in Seattle. He married Beverly Weeks and they were later divorced. Wayne worked for the Bunker Hill Lab at Smelterville, ID. He marred the love of his life Sharon Knutson on July 15, 1988 in Lake Tahoe, NV. Wayne worked as an electric instrumentation designer in California until he retired in 2005 and moved to Harrison, ID. He loved spending time with all of his family and enjoyed playing poker regularly. Wayne also loved to fish and play on the computer and watch TV in his “man cave”. Wayne was often seen driving around town on his ATV with the snow plow attached… year round! Wayne is survived by his wife Sherri at their home, his children Karen (Frank) Nichols of Arvada, CO, David Lomas of Bountiful, UT, Bill (Gladys) McElhaney of Santa Clarita, CA, Christina (Johnny) Mejia of Susanville, CA. Also surviving is his sister Susie (Rich) Lund of Harrison, ID, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents and mother-in-law Gloria Elam. A celebration of his life will be Friday March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrison Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Moore officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the church.
