Obituary of Gabrielle D. Sullivan

Gabrielle D. Sullivan (91) lifelong resident of St. Maries, passed away on March 22, 2017 at her home. She was born on November 21, 1925 to Dannie & Dorothy (Jury) Curtis in St. Maries. She graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1943. Following high school, she went to work for the Logger’s Supply and then First Security Bank. Gabrielle married Joseph Bradley (Sully) Sullivan on January 17, 1948 in Kellogg, Idaho. After they were married, they returned to St. Maries. Upon their return, they started their family where Gabrielle was a home maker and raised their children. She was involved in her children’s activities and helped with Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls, 4-H and Job’s Daughters. Later, Gabrielle went to work at Hughes’ Home Center as a bookkeeper where she retired in 1993. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the St. Maries Country Club, St. Maries Senior Citizens, Chapter AN of the PEO Sisterhood, and TOPS. She was also a member of the St. Maries Community Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and served on many committees throughout the years. Gabrielle enjoyed baking desserts and was known for her delicious cookies. She also enjoyed traveling on cruises and trains, and loved to attend plays. Gabrielle is survived by her daughter Robin Sullivan of Twisp, WA, her son and daughter-in-law Brad and Nancy Sullivan of Oakesdale, WA, her daughter and son-in-law Erin and Bob Anderson of Puyallup, WA and her sister Cereta Fredrickson of Tacoma, WA. Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gabrielle’s husband Sully passed away in 2005. A celebration of her life will be held on April 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church with Reverend Janet Potter officiating. A gathering and lunch will follow the services at the Church's Fellowship Hall. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Community Presbyterian Church 1100 College Ave, St. Maries, ID.
