Obituary of Zachariah Thomas Mahoney

Zachariah Thomas Mahoney (35) lifetime resident of Plummer, ID passed away at Kootenai Health on April 14, 2017. He was born to Michael George Sr. and Connie Mahoney in Spokane Valley, WA on November 6, 1981. He grew up in Plummer and graduated from Lakeside High School with the class of 2001. While he was in high school he went to work for the Warpath Smoke Shop and continued working there after he graduated. Zach was a “Jack of all trades” at his job working anywhere from the counter to keeping the computer system going as the IT Tech. His computer skills were all self-taught and he was very good at repairing anything that was electronic. When the holidays would roll around, all of Zach’s family and friends looked forward to receiving a card from him. He never missed a holiday or a birthday. Zach had the biggest heart of anyone you would meet, and he showed a lot of empathy and compassion when he was helping others or thinking of them. He was a practical joker who always had his family laughing. He enjoyed playing video games, reading, going to the movies, drawing, and the Miami Dolphins. Zach died at birth, but angels were with him that day watching over him, and his family feels very blessed that God gave them 35 years with him. He is survived by his mother Connie Mahoney of Plummer, ID; father Michael George Sr. of Plummer, ID; sister Vicki (Bill) Tovey of Plummer, ID; and brothers Dennis Martin of Plummer, ID and Michael George Jr. of DeSmet, ID; his great-aunt Virginia Delorme; 5 nieces and 2 nephews. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Rose Creek Longhouse in Worley, ID. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Rose Creek Longhouse in Worley, ID with Fr. Robert Erickson S.J. celebrant. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Plummer, ID. A gathering of family and friends will follow services at the Rose Creek Longhouse.
