Obituary of Catherine J. Legitt
Catherine Janice Legitt (91) former Santa, Idaho resident died April 30, 2017 at Clarkston, WA. She was born October 18, 1925 to William and Edith Crockett at Roswell, New Mexico.
Cathy left New Mexico as a child and moved with her parents to California. She married Floyd “Clint” Legitt on April 18, 1947 at Long Beach, CA. Besides raising her family, Cathy went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk. She transferred to Mt. Shasta California when her husband took a job there in 1970. Cathy retired from the U.S. Postal Service when she and her husband moved to St. Maries in 1977. She and her husband started St. Maries Glass Co. and made their home in Santa, ID. Cathy worked as a booker for their business. They retired in 1990. She moved to Clarkston, WA in 2006 after living 30 years in Santa. Her husband died in 2011.
Cathy enjoyed crocheting. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. Cathy was a former member of the Mt. Shasta California Order of Eastern Star.
Cathy is survived by her daughter Linda Allman of Santa, ID and sisters Mary House of Santa, ID and Margie Hanson of California. Also surviving are grandson’s Clint and Jack Allman and great grandchildren Zach Dupree, Daniel Allman, Kelton and Ellie Allman. She is preceded in death by her son Don Legitt, and her brothers Clarence Crocket, Burch Crocket, David Crocket, Howard Crocket, Bruce Crocket, Paul Crocket, and William Crocket.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at the family home in Santa, ID at a date and time to be announced.
