Obituary of Dennis Henry Adams

Dennis H. Adams Sr. (71) lifetime resident of St. Maries, ID died September 19, 2012 at St. Maries. He was born May 2, 1941 to Warren and Gertrude (Ward) Adams at St. Maries. He grew up in St. Maries and left school to go to work at Cabin City and learned his mechanic skills from John Aktepy. He married Virginia Kinkade on October 2, 1965 at the Presbyterian Church in St. Maries. Following their marriage, Dennis worked for his brother-in-law Dale Harwood at the local Phillips 66 Station. He transferred back and forth between several area lumber mills before returning to the St. Maries Complex of Potlatch Corp. in 1977. He worked as a fork lift operator. Dennis retired in 2003. He enjoyed maintaining automobiles and re-building engines. He enjoyed camping and week end trips through out all the Northwest States. Dennis is survived by his wife Virginia at the family home in St. Maries. His son Dennis Adams Jr. of St. Maries and son and daughter-in-law Howie and Lisa Adams of Coeur d' Alene, ID. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Jeremy Addington of Harrison, ID Also surviving are his brother Owen Adams and sister Patsy Maier both of Wenatchee, WA and brother John Adams and sister Dora Strand both of St. Maries. Dennis is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Delbert, Kenneth, and Edward Adams, Half-brothers Whitey and Raymond Adams and sisters Ellen Harwood, Margaret Ebert, Esther English and Half- Sister Ruth Adams.
