This world has lost a great man - Our family's were neighbors when I was attending Kootenai High School. Dean was the bus driver that influenced my sense of community and the pure act of caring for others. There were many times that Dean demonstrated his sense of moral compass, and I remember once when he confronted everyone abroad his bus with a strong worded lesson on proper behaved towards others. And I still remember them playing music (Deanne) and really enjoying themselves. Everyone that had the opportunity to come in contact with Dean has only benefited from the experience.

Deann & Tom
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Tom at this time. I still talk to my Dad and he died back in '78. He's with me still as your dad will remain with you for the rest of you life.
I wonder what your dad of 30/40 years ago would have thought of the current situation. As an only child I have never had a sibling to turn too. I pray that his death will let siblings remember that they are precious to one another and that now is the time to come together as a family.
May God be with you all
John

So sorry for your loss . . . . words are not really enough.
It is so sad that people don't see what goes on behind the scenes: work on the farm, help with everyday things, the support, the love. You have lost your father and nothing we can say can make up for that. I hope you will remember and relive the good times just as we will remember stories we've heard about him from many sources.
Old age is so cruel as memories can fade, disappear, or be influenced by others. I cannot believe the obituary your dad wrote didn't feature you and it is so wrong that anyone could have edited you out of what he wrote himself; that was, after all, what HE chose for his obituary.
You and Tom have been wonderful neighbours to us, both generous and kind, and it's hard to believe you can have been anything less to your dad.
The loss of a loved one is the time for a family to come together, a time for healing, a time for reconciliation, a time for forgiveness and a time to relive all the good over lifetimes together.
I am sure you can take comfort from the memories of your mom and dad in their better days.
Kind Regards
Mary

He was my bus driver for many years, at the bottom of Black Lake Hill. He was a super guy, gentle & caring spirit, and was so proud of his daugher Deanne, so i was surprised to not see her mentioned as surviving Family. Gods best for all of you!
