Obituary of Michael Andrew McDonald
Michael Andrew McDonald (65) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 26, 2017. He was born to Eugene and Edith McDonald on January 17, 1952 in Oliver Springs, TN. Mike went to school in Oak Ridge, TN and graduated from Oak Ridge High School with the class of 1970. Following high school, Mike enlisted in the United States Army serving in Vietnam. After his discharge, he returned to Knoxville, TN where he attended the University of Tennessee.
Mike left college and started construction work. He started out his career as a laborer and moved up to eventually owning his own construction company. He married Melody Price on August 7, 1982 in Polk County, TN and they had son Jacob.
A visit to the World’s Fair in Spokane, WA brought Mike and his family to Idaho. He fell in love with Idaho and found property up the Benewah. He purchased the property and made it his home. Mike worked his whole life until he became ill and was forced into retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf on Thursday night with the guys.
Mike is survived by his son’s family Jacob McDonald, Heather Vucasin, and Emmalyn McDonald, his siblings Freddie Jean (Raymond Todd) Stemple of Annandale, VA and Monte Carroll (Mary Katherine) McDonald of Maryville, TN. At this time there are no services planned.
