Edward Andrews

Obituary of Edward Leon Andrews

Edward Leon Andrews (69) resident of Fernwood, ID passed away on June 25, 2017.  He was born to Edward and Ruby (Banks) Andrews on December 14, 1947 in Little Rock, AR.  He grew up in Little Rock and enlisted into the US Navy serving in Vietnam.  Edward was a jack of all trades – he owned his own machine shops, managed sawmills, managed marinas, was a mechanic, Farrier, built boats, and was skilled in carpentry.  Edward raised his daughter Melody and took her everywhere.  She was his sidekick whether it was for work or an adventure.  Reuiniting with his youngest daughter Laure later in life and the relationships that were blossoming between the three of them brought him an incredible abount of pride and comfort. Edward enjoyed old cars and would buy them and restore them.  He was an avid hunter who would guide hunting trips, and he loved to collect guns.  He loved adventure and would run mule trains into firefighters to bring them supplies.  He also loved to ski.

Originally from Arkansas, Edward lived in Sandpoint most of his life.  He moved to California, but loved Northern Idaho, so he bought a house in Fernwood and retired.  Although he was retired he still stayed busy and loved adventure.

Edward is survived by his daughters Melody (Scott) Reddie of Fresno, CA and Laure (Matt) Shelquist; brother James (Monte) Andrews of Alabama; sister Edwina (Don) McClure of Florida; and granddaughter Cooper Shelquist.
