Obituary of Kenneth W. Kochsmeier
Kenneth W. Kochsmeier (65) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away on October 9, 2017. He was born to Kenneth and Maylin Kochsmeier on June 19, 1952. Kenneth grew up in Vale, OR and graduated from high school there. Following high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Navy after 22 years of service.
Kenneth returned to Vale, OR where he worked in a mushroom factory. He then went to work for the prison in Ontario, OR. A supervisor job opened up at University of Idaho, so Kenneth went to work for the college. He moved to Plummer, ID and married his love Shirley on June 8, 2013.
In 2014 Kenneth retired from the University of Idaho. The couple found their dream home which was a log cabin on the St. Joe River. They relocated to St. Maries to enjoy retirement. Kenneth was a hardworking and loving man. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being at his home looking out at the St. Joe River.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Shirley “Lee” at the family home; sons Bobby Kochsmeier of Kendrick, ID and Danny Kochsmeier of Boise, ID; step-children Randolph Schaefer, Christen Christensen, Ashley Schaefer, and Brian Schaefer all of Spokane, WA; 2 sisters Marcia Trunnell and Diane Vandermere; and 16 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be October 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Plummer Assembly of God Church.
