Obituary of Vada Inez Tate
Vada Inez Tate (64) St. Maries, ID resident died December 24, 2011 at St. Maries. She was born April 15, 1947 to Thomas and Lillian (Ivey) Long at Heppner, OR. She grew up where ever her father's career took the family to support them. She spent her teenage years in St. Maries. She married Jim Patterson in 1963 in St. Maries. They lived in St. Maries, Washington and Oregon State as well as in Nuremberg, Germany where her husband's military service took them. She returned to St. Maries in 1972 and continued to raise her family. During that time, they also lived in Coos Bay, OR. She was divorced in 1975. She married John Adams in 1976 at St. Maries. She had worked as a waitress for the Midway Cafe and Pat and Scotts Restaurant. She also worked for Economy Hardware and H & R Block. She and Mr. Adams divorced in 1981. Inez lived in Garden Grove, CA with members of her family and spent time with her grandchildren . While there, she worked for a Temp Agency. Inez returned to St. Maries in 2004. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking. She was an avid reader of "Thriller " novels. Inez is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Bo Patterson of Toledo, OH her daughter and son-in-law Tina and Jerry DiIoli of Wildomar, CA and daughters Tammie Cox of St. Maries and Melody Harvey of Spokane, WA. Also surviving are her brothers and their wives Calvin and Helen Long of Lompoc, CA and Brian and Shiela Long of Sandpoint, ID and sister Virginia Potman of St. Maries. Also surviving is her mother Lillian Long of St. Maries. Inez is also survived by sister-in-law Alice Curson of Oregon, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Wayne Curson and sister Nancy Francis and her father Tom Long. Services will be held at a date to be announced in the Summer of 2012.
