Obituary of Susan Lynn Heaton

Susan Lynn Heaton (61) resident of Temecula, CA passed away at her sister’s home in St. Maries, ID on February 23, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  She was born in Elmhurst, IL on January 5, 1957 to Frank and Hazel Nelson.  After she graduated high school, Susan enlisted into the U.S. Navy serving 10 years.  She worked at the Commissary following her time in the Navy. 

Susan moved in with her Offerman family and helped raised her niece and nephews.  When they were grown, she also helped raised her great niece and nephew.  Family and friends meant the world to Susan.  Generous could explain her as she was very giving and would give the shirt off her back to anyone.  She loved and needed her friends.

Before Susan was sick, she enjoyed going bowling, kayaking, and spending time with her friends.  She also enjoyed beer and wine tastings, and loved listening to the bands that played at them. 

Susan is survived by her Offerman family, her mother Hazel Nelson, and her siblings Barb, Patty, and Tom.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her father and her brother Frank.

Services will be announced at a later date.  She will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
