To my grandmother whom I remember meeting once, Rest In Peace. I've tried and tried to find you and the family before I found this sad news. I wish I got to know you better and spent sometime together. I remember the time when you and papa Ed took me out on the horse ranch and made me ride the on the horses for as long as I wanted. Your yummy baked goods and papa Ed making sure I was having a Good time. Until then, Rest easy. Please say Hello to Papa Ed and my dad Robert for me.
P.S.
I'm Thankful my middle name is after you
Tricia

I was so saddened to hear of your mom's passing. She was a wonderful wonderful woman and I was privileged to call her my friend. She and Ed were so precious. I remember Norma, baby Marcie and I flying to California to visit. It was one of the highlights of my younger years.

Maxine Fecko
Here’s a poem for Maxine Fecko
Who’s passing brings us tears
But she accomplished a lot of things
Throughout her almost 84 years.
She and Ed ran the Parkline Supper Club
And it was the best place for a nice dinner
Maxine was the cook and her food was great
You always felt like you were a winner!
Almost everyone from Saint Maries came there
And Plummer and the Palouse farmers too
Keeping the reputation high for their restaurant
Was something they were proud to do.
She was a pretty good artist
Whether pottery or even stained glass
You could tell that she took her time
And made it all first class.
Then Max got into politics
And she didn’t let it bring her down
She got so involved in everything
That she became the mayor of her town!
But as mayor of Chatcolet
She did her job just fine
And was able to change the town’s name
And she then became mayor of Parkline.
So I don’t know if it is a record
But to me this seems pretty great
She’s the only person to be mayor in two towns
In all of Idaho state!
You could see her at home with her golf cart
her dogs and cats following her trail
watching turkeys, deer and chickens
And she loved to watch the quail.
She was a faithful Gonzaga fan
If she was cleaning, she’d put away her rags
And wait for her friend Shirley to call
So she could hear her yell out “Go Zags”!
She loved her daughters and families
On that she would never bend
They made sure she was comfortable
And they cared for her to the end.
Cheryl flew down a lot from Alaska
And Judy drove from Montana, but then
Val came up from California
And thank God decided to move in!
In her later years she would just blurt out things
Sometimes they came without warning
But the one thing you could always count on
Were her sweet rolls in the morning!
She’d say the TV people were all “Haywire Hansen’s”
Listening to her sometimes was a little hard
She’d say “Holy Toledo” and “Christopher Columbus”
And “is my Venza still parked in the yard?”
But the one phrase she always used
Even while she was starting to run out of gas
No matter how difficult the situation she’d say
Well, “That too shall pass”.
So I guess we should all remember that line
When instead of roses, life hands us out pickles
Just follow the wisdom of Maxine Fecko
….and “don’t take any wooden nickles!”
Love and miss you Max!

Maxine and Ed were Mr. & Mrs. Parkline. The service at the Parkline was great and the food delicious! They made you feel like they were welcoming you into their home.
We loved hearing Ed's motorcycle stories and enjoyed Maxine's superb cooking! They are both missed!
