Obituary of Evelyn L. Fauley
Evelyn L. Fauley (77) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away on March 23, 2018. She was born on September 7, 1940 in Morrilton, AR. To Dexter and Alberta Pearce . She grew up in Kansas City, MO where she married Don Pella which included his children Kris, Linda, Karen, Cheri and Donna in 1956. The couple moved to San Diego, CA. Eve went to work for the Registrar Voters of California where she watched the election returns. This was a job she was very proud of.
Don’s work took he and Eve all over the country. They ended up moving to St. Maries, ID where they built a cabin on Sanders Road. Don passed away in 1978. To support herself she held several jobs in St. Maries such as a cook at Minerva’s, and a bartender at Holstein’s and the Lucky Duck. She met Howard Fauley while she was bartending at the Lucky Duck. They married up on Shay Hill on September 28, 1988 at the home of Donna and Gerald Allen.
Eve as a lifetime member of the St. Maries Eagles Lodge. She also spent a lot of her time volunteering for Hopes Haven. Her and Howard purchased a 5th wheel and loved to travel. Her favorite trips where to Glacier National Park, specifically Two Medicine Lake. The couple would continue on to the Missouri River Breaks where they would camp and check out the Slippery Ann Bugling. They also traveled to Alaska and Arizona. Many memories of scenery and wildlife were captured on film during these trips. When she wasn’t traveling, Eve enjoyed working in her flower beds at home as she loved flowers. She was also a fabulous cook and enjoyed feeding her family. Eve was an avid bowler and was in several leagues throughout the country and won a car in one of the tournaments she bowled in.
Eve is survived by her husband Howard at the family home, daughter Tamara Fauley of Astoria, OR, son Charles Fauley of Martin City, MT, Audrey (Arthur) Vandervelde of Shelton, WA, Greg (Tina) Johnson of Forks, WA. , Kris Pella, Karen Pella of Bailey, CO Cheri (John) Kendrick, Liberty MO, and a daughter Linda. Grandchildren Michelle (Kevin) McKee of Bismark, ND, Eric Browning of Salt Lake, UT, Troy , Wyatt and Drew Johnson all of Forks, WA, Great Grandchildren: Kyle and namesake Evelyn McKee of Bismark, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Don Pella, and her brother Clyde Pierce and daughter Donna Browning. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother Zet who is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Viewing will be Tuesday March 27 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30pm and Wed. March 28 from 8:30 am to 10:00 a.m. at Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries
A memorial service will be Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Eagles Lodge in St. Maries, ID. A gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow. Her final resting place will be a private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in her name to the Benewah Co. Humane Society 53 Robinson Lane, St. Maries, ID 83861 or Hospice of North Idaho. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hodge Funeral Home, Hospice and the Eagles Lodge.
