We are sorry to hear about your loss. Larry enjoyed working with Scott at the Pend Oreille Valley Railroad and he learned a lot from him for he had a lot of railroad background. Starting out as a track man and working his way up, he was, in his opinion, over qualified for a short line railroad like the one in Usk, WA. It is no wonder he was going to become manager of a railroad because of his knowledge and passion for helping others. He spoke often of his wife and children with love and devotion. Our prayers go out to all his loved ones. He was an asset to this world and will be missed by many.

I had the privilege of working with Scott on the St. Maries River Railroad. As many have said he was one of the nicest people I ever got to know. I am so saddened to hear of his passing but not surprised to hear he was helping someone out. Though I hadn't seen Scott in over 20 years I have never forgotten him. I have nothing but fond memories of him. He was a special person who will be missed by anyone who ever had the opportunity to get to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

Jeff and Candace-I am so sorry you have lost your dad. It hurts so much to loose a parent you looked up to and admired. The hurt lessens with time, but I'm sorry to say-it doesn't go away. We can keep their memory close in our hearts and remember the good times and the love we have shared with them. My thoughts are with you. With love,
your cousin, Anita McDavid and Family

Scott is the most polite and courteous individual I've ever met.
Thru the three years I had worked with him at Dakota Southern we had our ups and downs, but some how always came out on top. In times when things looked the most bleek Scott would find the lighter side of the situation and work his way thru it. He perished the way he lived by helping those who needed help. The world could use more individuals with his qualities, he'll be missed.

I had the fortune of getting to know Scott thru his time working in Mitchell, SD and his service to Graphic Packaging with Dakota Southern. Scott was very passionate and knowledgeable about railroading. Through our many conversations it was apparent that family was his true passion as he always talked about family and wanting to go back home. Scott gave my son a railroad lesson back in February while giving us a ride on the locomotive that will last a life time. When and how to blow the horn! Not many 5 year old boys get this kind of an opportunity. Scott left an everlasting impression on my son as I am sure he did with many people.
Our condolences to Scott’s family and friends.

I was fortunate to work with Scott for about 10 years on the Pend Oreille Valley Railroad. He was a kind and caring man who loved his family so much; he talked about all of you often. I am not surprised that he stopped to help someone in need, that was Scott's genuine nature. I am so grateful that he stopped by not too long ago just to visit and that I received one of his wonderful hugs. May God support you in your time of grief. My family and I will keep you in our prayers.

In Our Hearts
By © Rose de Leon
We thought of you with love today, But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday. And days before that too.
We think of you in silence. We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories. And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake. With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping. We have you in our heart.
Rest in Peace Scott and know your love for your family will forever shine in their hearts. You are the Hero to all!

I got to know Scott while working with him on the MRC Rehabilitation project in SD. I knew Scott as a very intelligent, knowledgable railroader. However I also knew him as a genuinely nice guy. We would have lunch together after our project meetings and he spoke very proudly of his family and how he missed you all while he was away. I am not surprised that he was helping another person in need since he was a very caring person. I will miss Scott very much. My sincere condolences to the entire family.
Respectfully,
