Obituary of Regina G. Taylor
Regina G. Taylor (82) longtime resident of St. Maries, ID passed away on April 16, 2018. She was born to Haram and Thelma Elders on December 24, 1935 in Bolair, WV. Regina attended school through the 8th grade, and left to help her parents around their home. The family later moved to St. Maries, ID seeking jobs at the mill. They paid a cab driver $350.00 to drive them from West Virginia to St. Maries, ID.
At the age of 17, Regina went to work as a janitor for the St. Maries School District. She was reacquainted with Harold Taylor who was so in love with her, he followed her from West Virginia to St. Maries. The couple married in 1960 at the Hitching Post in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. They soon started a family, and she stayed at home to take care of her home and children.
Everybody who met Regina just loved her. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed sharing stories of her life, specifically growing up in her West Virginia days. She had many cats, and she loved taking care of them. She also loved going to yard sales, rummage sales, weekly trips to the Senior Center, reading magazines, and collecting dolls as she had hundreds of them.
Regina is survived by her children John (Anette) Taylor of Brewster, WA, Donna Cook (Allen Good) of St. Maries, ID, and Lori Taylor of Spokane, WA. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Taylor, son Ricky Beers, sister Juanita Wotring, and brother Bob Elders.
