Rosalie ( Neil ) Chappell was my younger sister. We had a lot of fun in our growing up years with the usual sibling disputes but nothing serious. She had a fun sense of humor much like our mother's which is where the 5 of us got ours. I'll share an instance of that with you . I was dating a boy who had a car & the 3 of us went to a park. Walking hand in hand with my boyfriend he began singing. All of a sudden Rosalie loudly exclaimed " Kill it before it spread !" & she took off running ! It was so funny , not meant to be mean. It just came to her & she said it.
I remember when mom gave birth to Rosalie. There was no name put on the birth certificate yet , except for Rosalie, no middle name. Mom gave us 3 older kids the important task of coming up with a middle name to go with Rosalie but no matter how many names we came up with , none worked. That is why she had no middle name.
The last phone call I had with my sister was Thursday February 15, 2018. I kept track of our calls , letters I sent to her. I asked her how was she feeling and she said , " Mean and ornery as can be" . At the same time we both loudly gave out with "WOO HOO! " and we laughed. I kept all of the letters Rosalie wrote to me during the time she was living at Indiana with Rosie, Toree & Bill as well as when she lived alone in her apartment. They mean a lot to me as does the phone calls we had when she was healthy and living at Fernwood, Idaho.
I love Rosalie Chappell . I miss her so much. She is at peace and at Home now.
