The love between sisters has a very special bond. Every Little girl should grow up having a sister like Ginna (the name all of her family called he). When I was little and would sleep with her, she was worried that I would get cold. So she would sleep on one side and then the other making sureI stayed warm.
Losing a loved one is a very painful and leaves one with an aching heart. But we can be comforted by so many great memories. We had many good times fishing for salmon and halibut in Alaska and we caught BIG fish. When I was in high school my best friend Sandy andI would drive from Lewiston to visit her at her home up Hatter Creek. We would play games and have good laughs. We had so much fun beach combing on Sitkinak Island. We found a large number Japanese glass floats. The ultimate find! What a great adventure to share.
I will always miss and love Ginna. She will always be in my heart. I am comforted that she has joined our sisters and is now breathing easily and in the arms of Jesus.

Aunt Ginna was so much more than an Aunt to me.
She was my Boss – we spent some very long long days in the cookhouse – mostly laughing with a little cooking thrown!
She was my cheerleader as I worked my way to college and my first car - Go Subaru!
She was my first “beauty squad” doing everything she could to keep me looking like a young lady (although there were some unfortunate perms along the way, LOL)
And to this day, she is the only person I’ve met who moves as fast as I do
I will miss her smile & her enthusiasm for life-
Xo xo Jade

Grandma Virginia has been one of the biggest impacts on my life. Looking back I realized she has taught me 3 major things…..
1. That is is ok to be competitive! I went to visit her and papa down in yuma during one of my winter breaks in college. We took a trip to Mexico, went to flea markets and ate a lot of seafood and tamales. BUT the best part of this trip was a card game we played. We drank wine and played hours of HAND & FOOT. I was her partner for one round and it was my turn and she looked at me and told me we will win….. and We did.
2. To try everything once. She has taught me how to sew, crochet, clean the decorative bowls on the top shelf and of course make delicious pies. I am grateful for the skills she has taught me.
3. LOVE is thicker than blood. When grandma came into my life as a preteen I didn’t realize that people can love so hard. I will never forget the day she held my hand for the first time. It was during a Christmas in July party at the river . She loved me like all the grandkids. I will never forget the love she gave to everyone around her.
I love you and miss you Grandma

Thank you for taking care of me, even in your last moments. You worried if we had eaten and where we were going to sleep. You let me crawl up in bed with you and stroked my hair so you could see my face. Your strength and grace are such a huge a part of our lives...you are so very loved and will be so very missed. You smell Beautiful and your jiggling bracelets are a sound like no other - I love you oodles!

The list is long so here is just a few things I learned from my Grandma:
When company comes, be a gracious host.
Always say I love you to those that mean the most.
Friends and family are the joys of life.
Enjoy and be proud to be a good man’s wife.
If someone tells you a secret, keep it.
Don’t complain and don’t ever boast.
Let go of the past, and always have a dream.
Keep your ground but don’t be mean.
You are never too old to hold hands with those you love.
Don’t be stingy, share what you have and give thanks above.
Grandma for the last time in life on earth within the few moments before God took you home, I hope that you felt my kiss on your forehead and I pray you heard me whisper "you are sooo sooo beautiful and one of the greatest women in my life. I love you so very very very much."

While the joy and love she brought to the world and the grief I have at losing her is not fully describable in words.....I can recall so vividly many of the moments that highlighted that energy she brought to her family and the world.
Gramma was an incredibly devoted wife, mother and grandmother but always still was such an example of independence. In all my quirky adventures she was always cheering me on and never failed to tell me how proud she was of me.
I remember late nights in Yuma playing chicken tracks with dominos....and Papa and I laughing till we both were drying because poor Gramma couldn’t catch a break and you can imagine how she was taking being the game’s loser every singling round. With each round she got more focused and irritated with the game and Papa got a little more giggly. But regardless of how late we we to to bed (after eating popcorn) she was still up early, those silver bracelets jingling as she fixed coffee, did her crossword/suduko and fixed breakfast.
She always answered the phone “mmmyello” and later on when she could see who was calling she would answer “hi babe!!!!”
There was nothing that she didn’t think she could do and that has inspired and shaped me.
In the last year we had several conversations about her going to Heaven. I know she is there...I know she can dance again, and throw washers, and watch as we carrying on the legacy of love that she and Papa created. Cochrane love....means we are never alone.
I love you oodles Gramma!
