Mere words cannot describe how deeply I miss my grandfather, nor can they describe the overwhelming joy I feel knowing he is watching over us, and patiently waiting to embrace us inside heaven's gates. May his soul forever rest in piece.

A Letter to Buck
When tomorrow starts without you,
and you're not here with me,
The sun will rise and find my eyes
filled with tears because you are not next to me.
I know you don't want me to cry
the way I did today,
While thinking of the many
things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you loved me,
And you know I loved you too.
And each time I think of you...
You know I'll miss you too.
When tomorrow starts without you,
I'll know we're not far apart,
For every time I think of you,
You'll always be right in my heart.
I will love you forever,
Your Loving Wife

Grandpa, thank you very much for everything that you did for me and for the love you gave so freely. I want you to know that you're the best grandfather one could have ever asked for and we'll always remember you. Though you're no longer with us, I am certain you still live within us. I'll always keep those fond memories of those happy times we spent together close to my heart. I know that you will be watching over us and guiding us from wherever you might be. I love you.

Words can not fully express the loss that my heart feels at the passing of a Amazing Man, my Dad. He was truly blessed with a gift that was visible in his many beautiful creations. I feel so blessed knowing fully well that I was loved very much be a father that was sensitive and kind, always wanting the best for his family.
I am not sure how one moves on from here, knowing that the world as I have known will never be the same. But there is a peace in my heart that will make each day a little better, and that only comes from knowing that my father lives on...in my children, in the memories we share, and in me. This is not good-bye, just till we see each other again.

Just a few words about our friend and my cousin Buck Mourning. I knew Buck all of his life. His birthday is only 1 day after mine, ten years later.
I will always remember the annual August celebrations. I was only able to attend a few, however seeing pictures and hearing stories of the family fun and music will always bring a smile to my face.
Since his teenage years Buck was a hard working man.
I wasn't extremely close to Buck but I always considered him a friend and someone I could count on if I needed him. He will be a great loss to the family.
God Bless his wife Margaret, a great person and we are all standing by to help you if you need us.

Sending my condolences to the Mourning family. I know this is truly a loss to all, Buck was a very talented person and I know will be missed by all. I know his brother Bill VanDevender will be joyful to be able to hear him playing music once more. Bill totally loved his brother and was very proud to call him his brother. He bragged about his playing and his talent of making many things from the beautiful wood (guitars, furniture and the animals he carved. The Lord has added another member to his joyful band of musicians, may there be peace in the valley to all those left here with many wonderful memories.

We are very sad to hear about Buck. He was a good friend and neighbor. We will always remember the good times, playing music and visiting sometimes into the wee hours of the morning. He will be greatly missed, as Buck would say "You know what I mean?"

My sincere condolences to the Mourning family. May you find comfort in your loving memories, and in God's promise to soon "swallow up death forever...and wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25;8) While grief at the loss of Buck is great, joy at welcoming him back in the resurrection will be greater. (Mark 5;42) With deepest sympathy,

A Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, and Friend; we have all lost. I will forever miss being his "Hotdog". There is nothing I wouldn't do to hear one more of Grandpas jokes or wake up one more morning and watch the news with him. Most of all it is the little things I will miss. The nicknames, laughs, smiles, birthdays, Fathers Day visits, and Holidays. Eating his favorite pies without him will never be the same. As we all morn for our loss let us not forget all the joy he once gave us. The memories of him will last forever and may we smile once more about them one day. Grandpa you will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
With love, Forever and Always
Your Hotdog

Stan told me that Buck passed away. I'm sorry to hear it and offer my sincerest sympathy to the family. Bucky and I were almost the same age and he was my boyfriend (at least I thought he was) when we lived next door on 2nd street. I was in the 4th grade and I think he was in the fifth. I remember when he was taking guitar lessons from Mrs. Keane in the classroom across the hall from mine at Heyburn school. I have good memories of Bucky, Chucky, and Peeney when we were kids. We had a lot of fun as neighbors and friends.

What a terrible loss. We loved him and his music so much. He was staunch, opinionated and great to talk with. His music is silenced here on earth but the angels and their harps have some serious competition now.
