Ron Robinson - Obituary Ronald Reed Robinson, 64, of St. Maries, Idaho, died August 28, 2013 in Coeur d'Alene. Ron was born to the late Leonard (Skip) and Polly Robinson on May 25, 1949, in St. Maries, Idaho. Ron was a resident of St. Maries his entire life. Ron graduated from St. Maries High School in 1967. Following graduation from high school, Ron attended North Idaho Junior College. He received two degrees from North Idaho Junior College: Automobile Mechanics in 1969 and an Associate's Degree in 1971. After that Ron attended the University of Idaho where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Education in 1973. Later in life Ron continued his education by obtaining ASE Certifications in Mechanics. From 1974 to 1992 Ron worked as a mechanic for Potlatch Northern Woodlands in St. Maries and in Bovill. In 1992 Ron went to work for Jack Buell Trucking as a shop mechanic until he went on disability retirement in 2008. Ron's enthusiasm for life was evident in his easy-going, fun-loving nature. He was a generous soul who gave freely of his time and talents. His friends called him "Rockin' Ron" because of his passion for rock 'n roll music. Ron had a large collection of vinyl records and CD's. Ron loved fast cars, car shows, road trips, and enjoyed collecting and modifying classic cars. He was part owner of a drag race car which he and his friends raced at the Spokane Raceway Park. He was a longtime member of the St Joe Valley Car Club. When NFL football season rolled around, Ron never missed watching a game, especially when his Chicago Bears were playing. Ron is survived by his wife Carol Robinson and step-sons Jonas Champion and Ryan Dickison. He is also survived by his brother Jim Robinson; sister Judy Miller ; sister-in-law Karen Robinson; brother-in-law Bob Miller, and three neices. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of North Idaho and Hospice of Benewah County. Visitation will be at Hodge Funeral Home on Wed.Sept 4th, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. September 5, 2013 at the St. Maries Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Darin Million officiating. Following the service family and friends will gather at the church for food and fellowship.
