It seems I hardly ever saw Zada and Eulis, but still remember them from my childhood. I wish I had been closer, but still can picture a younger Zada in my mind. She was a great lady!

What a special person. We worked together for about 20 years in the St. Maries Central Dial Office and became good friends. Seeing her each evening and many days was always great. She kept that office spotless. I wish that I could have done my job as well as she did hers. I've got a thousand wonderful stories of Zada traveling through my mind at this moment. Each one speaks of her real dignity, good humor and generosity.(I was always called 'Curry' - never varied - really got to be a joke for us both.)
I've got a burl clock that Eulas and Zada gave me which still hangs on our wall. Thoughts tumble out about her hardships, her pride in her children and grandchildren. About her pride of Ethel, her appreciation of Marti and of the courage of Travis. About the epic 'kitchen remodel' - wow, Eulas must have been as surprised as any man could have been to return home and find that she had removed the wall!. it worked - she got her kitchen remodel. She walked everywhere - inclement weather, whatever, the kids would often drive her when they could but it seemed like Zada liked to walk. Thank God for memories - I'll treasure those that I have of Zada and her family. God Bless you Zada and God Bless Zada's family.

A Rose
A rose greats to us in the spring as a small bud, tiny in its
features, delegate, soft to touch.
In summer the rose spreads its petals and opens to the warm sun
and morning dew, showing its inner beauty and spreading its scent and seeds to
the wind.
Fall approaches and the rose’s petals start turning darker,
losing some of their shine and color, but the rose keeps fighting to keep its inner
beauty.
Then comes winter, the rose weeps to the ground, the shine
gone from its petals, but the memory of its beauty and life remain in the heart
until spring when a rose is born.
Truly a rose has passed this day.
