Obituary of Kenneth A. Nickerson
Kenneth A. Nickerson (66) resident of St. Maries, Idaho , was welcomed by his Lord and Savior in Heaven on February 21, 2012 following a heart attack at his home. He was born December 7, 1945 to Kenneth and Elsie (Oliver) Nickerson in Gloucester, Massachusetts. He grew up in Gloucester and graduated from high school in 1963. While in high school, he learned woodworking, construction, furniture and cabinet making. He was a fourth generation cabinet maker. Ken married Janice Oliver Sept. 16, 1967. They were married for 13 years before deciding to go separate ways. He worked as a cabinet maker and machinist until moving to Wenatchee, Washington in 1973. While in Wenatchee, Ken worked in home construction and later opened his own business, Cashmere Cabinetry custom building cabinets and furniture. On April 25, 1981 Ken married Darlene Inabnit. Upon moving to St. Maries in 1994, he opened American Craftsman Master Furniture and Cabinet business. He retired in 2008. He was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and built Back Pocket Gun Carts for the SASS organization. Ken was also a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed bee keeping, gardening, hunting and target shooting. Ken is survived by his wife Darlene of St. Maries ID. He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law Jeremi and Anna Whitehall of Pullman, WA and five daughters and sons-in-law Kristin and Mike Salgado of Cashmere, WA., Tracy and Dave Cunha of Salisbury, MA., Marci and Mike Olmstead of Leavenworth, WA., Kristi and Paul Brisky of Wenatchee, WA., and Kari and Leeman Williams of Entiat, WA. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Anne Johnston of West Paris, Maine. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elaine Mitchell.
