Grandma Richardson was a humble, gentle woman that I will always remember for her glowing spirit. She was thoughtful (remembering birthdays and special occasions), welcoming and upbeat every time she would greet us. She was exemplary in her faithfulness, a sincere believer. Her quiet, calming and peaceful demeanor was especially comforting to her great grandchildren whom she loved so dearly. A devoted servant of the Lord and to others, she leaves a wonderful legacy as the matriarch of her family.

Great Grandma was such a sweet lady. I remember spending time with her when I visited Grandma and Grandpa up north and she would let me look at her old trinkets and tell me stories. I will always remember her letters and the notes she wrote to us. She will be greatly missed

I remember going to your house on Dorothy Street and thinking it was funny that Grandma Dorothy lived on Dorothy Street. We would sit at your little table with the picture of the lady praying and have scrambled eggs and toast. You were always kind to everyone, even your crotchety friend, Mildred. Instead of condemning anyone for their bad actions, you would show compassion for their feelings. You were a devout woman that was such a great example of unwavering faith. Thank you for your love and example.

We would ride the bus to Balboa Park and she would take me to all the museums. my cousin Mike and i would raise cane and i know it was driving her batty, but she never scolded us or raised her voice, she would just say "Calm Down Dears". Grandma will be missed and allways in my heart. I Love You Grandma!

Gage is to small to write his own, but we just wanted to say that he loved his Great Grandma. She and Gage had a special relationship and even a language that no one else could understand. He would always brighten her day when he came to visit. He doesn't understand why Great Grandma isn't sitting in her chair.

Grandma was always tender and kind and the sweetest woman I have ever known. She never was angry with anyone, she just always loved everyone. I will miss her very much and all her tender words and her loving heart. I will see you again when it is my time and I know you will be there to welcome me into heaven. Rest in peace Grandma, there is no doubt in my mind that she is with everyone that went before her.

Don't think of her as gone away-
her journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets-
this earth is only one. . .
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched. . .
for nothing loved is ever lost-
and she was loved so much

I loved my Great Grandma. She always helped me with my homework and could spell really good. I wished that she could dress up like me and take my spelling tests at school. I would always get good grades if she could do that for me. She read to me and I liked that a lot. I really learned a lot from her. She would go to town and buy me presents, she have them wrapped and when she came home I could unwrap them. She was always nice to everyone and when I was sick she would hold me. I will miss my Great Grandma

I miss my mother very much. She was a big part of my life, especially the last ten years. She was the best speller that I ever knew. She would always make me a lemon meningue pie for my birthday, which was the best pie I have ever eaten. She was alway kind to me and everyone. Even when she was so sick she would always ask if I needed help fixing dinner or doing chores. I am so glad she was my mother. She always saw the world as a beautiful place.

It has been hard for me to let go of such a legion and hero. Grandma has played a huge roll in who I have become today. I have to many experiences to share, but from her loving innate spirit, to her rockin scrambled eggs, she has shaped my heart and soul. I have been honored to have her teach, love and show me of how important it is to take time to enjoy simplicity. I am truly split with emotion, happiness/sadness. I only can reflect on how important it is to serve my family and friends with her example of unconditional love. I love you all and am here for all of you.

Grandma Dorothy, I remember when we were sitting at a park in San Francisco feeding the birds and all of the birds were on top of you. You were laughing and saying “Oh dear”, and it was really funny. I have good memories of spending time with you in Idaho. You were always so kind to me. From the stories that my parents tell, I know that you were a great person. I am really happy that I was able to visit you one last time in your house in Idaho. You will be missed. I love you.

Dearest Grandma Dorothy,
Thank you for the light and love that you shared with me. Your sweet goodness was truly a blessing in my life. I am grateful for the memories of you: coming home to homemade extra cheesy mac and cheese, cross stitched pillows and blankets, handwritten letters that were pages long, cookbooks with loving messages in the cover, your laugh, always a big hug and kind smile, your love of books, Rob’s playful teasing and your good humor, your love of birds and fondness for cats, the way you saw beauty in everything, your gracious expressions of kindness, your thoughtful gifts for the babies, the beautiful silverware set that you gave me, shopping for birthday presents and going to lunch, the book you made with every note, letter and card I had ever sent to you, and most of all the immense love and joy that you radiated. Thank you for manifesting the Divine Mother in your compassion, wisdom and grace. I love you Grandma!

My Great Grandmother Dorothy Richardson
It’s funny how you use great and grand when you say her name, because my great grandmother was both great and grand. I loved going to visit her in Idaho; she was always very kind and loving. As long as I have known her she has had multiple cats, and they always had the same names: Violet and Sugar Boy. I remember going to an art show with her and my Grandma Cherryl one time, Grandma Dorothy just loved all of the art. My great grandma always had a place in her heart for everyone and everything. She always thought everything was so beautiful or “lovely” as she would say. I know that she will be missed very much by family and friends, but she is in a better place and we will be re-united with her someday. I love her very much!

God looked around his garden and found an empty space, then He looked upon this earth and saw your tired face He put his arms around you and said daughter you've done your duty, It's time for you to come home! May God be with my Grandma tonight and forever.."Till we meet again in heaven as brothers and Sisters."

Dorothy Richardson known to some as “Grandma Boom”: Made the best scrambled eggs and toast. Her potato soup would sell out every night. Had cats named “Violet”. Smelled like lavender. Had a funny little clock that worked, sometimes. Had a really big lawn and a small house. Wrote me 104 times while I was on a mission. Never raised her voice. Liked to hear the men’s choir. Never drove but got everywhere she needed to be. Knew all the prophets of the Book of Mormon, I believe personally. Took me to a parade in San Diego. Loved….and was kind. Looked beautiful in the temple. Communes with God. Bares testimony of Mother God. I love her.

Where do I begin with such a loving, spiritual, and the most kind-hearted woman I have ever had the privilege and honor of knowing? It is hard to express in words how much Grandma means to me; she was the only one to witness my civil marriage to her grandson & the reason for Mike and Thadeus's "red" gene blessing! I will always cherish all the fond memories and remember her unconditional love, smile and example to many. You will be greatly missed; I love you grandma:) love forever, Jeannie

Mom was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a good example to each of us. I know that the world was a better place because of her goodness and love that she gave to all of her family. She always had a listening ear and kind words to uplift your spirit. She loved the hymns and loved teaching the small children in church.
