Obituary of Dorothy L. Richardson

Dorothy L. Richardson (87) resident of St. Maries, ID died April 30, 2012 at St. Maries from a sudden heart attack. She was born August 19, 1924 to Joseph and Dorothy (Welch) Howard at Miami, Arizona. She grew up at Miami , AZ. She married David Rhodes 1942 in Arizona. Her husband was serving in the military and Dorothy lived in several U.S. States . She lived in California to be near her family. They divorced 1947 . She moved to Miami , AZ with her two daughters. 1949, she married Clifford J. Richardson at Miami. She raised her children and lived there for 11 years before they divorced. Dorothy returned to be near her parents in 1960. She received her education as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1962. She worked El Cajon Valley Hospital in California. In the 1970's, she worked for a Urologist at La Mesa, CA. for 8 years. In 1976, she went to work for Grossmont Hospital at La Mesa until her retirement in 1986. She and her daughter Cherryl opened up a business "Ham and Pie" Shop at La Mesa and operated it for a year. She worked on family genealogy. Moved to St. Maries in 2003. She was an amazing cross-stitcher and embroidery . She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held every female position with in the church. (Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, Adult Special Interest Group, visiting teacher) Her favorite jobs in the church was working with children in the nursery and singing in the choir. She is survived by her daughter Linda Richardson of St. Maries and daughter and son-in-law Cherryl and Larry Fournier of Yakima, WA. She was also devoted to her surviving 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by brother Joseph Savage. Graveside Services will be Wednesday May 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Bishop Larry Fournier conducting.
