Great Grandpa I will miss you! Thank you for taking me for trips across the northwest to see elk, moose, and whitetail deer! Thank you for having so much "piss and vinegar" yourself and always keeping things fun! We love you and will miss you!

I will miss my grandpa very much. I always looked up to him for all of the things that he did in his life. I will never forget the times that we spent hunting and fishing. I hooked my dad in the noise one day on a boat and when I did this grandpa just laughed and keep on fishing. Finally he did put his pole down long enough to pull the hook out. And then keep on fishing. I loved to talk to him about the things that he seen and the places that he had been too. I always liked to talk to him about construction and the things that I am doing. He always had a story about his past work activities and I loved to lesson to them. I would ask him what do you think Grandpa, " and he always told me to buy houses and lots and save your money". I tell people that all the time that ask me that question and I always think of my grandpa. I Love you Grandpa.

I will greatly miss my grandfather. All my life I knew that I could count on him if I ever needed him. My most favorit memories is the trip to Alaska in the spring & summer of 1979 with my grandparents. I would ride in the passenger seat with the map in my lap listening for many hours as he told me stories of the his past experiences. Grandpa was an awesome cook. I loved getting up early and sitting down with him to eat a wonderful breakfast that he prepared. That is why breakfast became my favorit meal even today I still think of grandfather in the mornings. Now Grandpa never met a stranger. He loved to talk to people. He was a people person and o'boy could he tell some jobs that would keep you laughing all day long. Once we hiked into the Alaska wilderness to cut down a diamond widow tree for me to have and even after many years have past he still talked about that trip to cut that tree down. What was so funny about that is Grandpa had me sawing the tree down and when it fell, it hit him in the head. He just laughed. I never forget the time he had me picking up Moose droppings. I had no ideal what I was picking up until he told me. I freaked out and he just laughed & laughed. I still today have me diamond widow tree & my moose droppings. There are so many more memories to tell. I believe that I had a special bond with my grandfather because he knew no matter what happen in life, I would always love him. I wish I could have spent more time with him. I love you grandpa! Your grand-daughter Cora Shackelford.
