I was Lonnie's in-home caregiver for a brief period a few years ago. He taught me how to fry eggs over hard without having to flip them, without their getting overcooked, and I was able to make a much tastier and better quality breakfast for him using this knowledge. I have been able to use this knowledge ever since in my own home. I learned a lot from him while I was taking care of his needs until his regular caregiver was able to resume those duties. I was fascinated with his rapport with the canaries he kept and bred. His faith was strong and unshakable. It's hard to know which of us benefited the most from the experience, but if he touched the lives of others as positively as he touched mine, then a lot of people have been very fortunate to have known him. And now he is in a realm where there are no physical limitations. True and blessed freedom, with love that is infinite and pure. What a lucky guy!

So sorry to hear of Lonnie's loss to his family and friends.
He was always such a friendly, likeable human being. He was a wonderful son to his parents, and a wonderful brother to his sister, Nina.
I know that he is enjoying the blessings of arriving in Heaven and in reuniting with loved ones there.

Uncle Lonnie as well as my Grandma and Mom are the real reason I am who I am today. God has richly blessed me with the family I have. I became a HAM radio operator many years ago because of countless hours sitting on his floor talking all over the world. I am a Christian and serve a loving God today because of how I was raised and my family being part of my personal decision to have Christ in my life. Of this I am sure; Uncle Lonnie is in the hands of the Savior.
I hope to see many of you at the grave side service and/or the Eagles to follow. I look forward to a time of stories and laughter as well as a few tears. You will be missed!
