"Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die... "
Irish Prayer
Love and miss you.

I met Charlie and Shirley over 30 years ago, and consider them my second set of parents, I could always tell Charlie loved his family more than anything. He got a sparkle in his eye when he would talk about his children and grandchildren, and it was evident he loved Shirley with all his heart. I was fortunate to be able see them more these last few years as we finally lived closer to them. I will remember Charlie sitting at the table, doing crossword puzzles, outside feeding his birds, or just puttering around the house. You will be missed, dear friend.
“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.” Irish Blessing

I don't believe in the afterlife. I believe in your current life. I believe that worrying too much about what happens after you die is a waste of mortality. We raise our children, our grandchildren, and we leave an everlasting mark. That ultimately is immortality.
To live in a patriarchal society, us children look up to our fathers and our grandfathers through a different lens. To us, they are the framework of happy homes. They can make us or break us with their words and their actions. In your presence, we always felt loved. We always felt you were proud of us, your grandchildren.
You had time to tell us your stories and fill us with joy before your passing, and for that we were shown how to truly live, to leave a positive mark on our loved one's hearts, and tough it out until the end. We are stronger now.
Love and Peace with your Memory...
Your one and only granddaughter,
Kelsi

I didn't know Charlie as long as some, but he was a man who I have the most respect for. He reminded me of my grandfathers, the two men I looked up to the mostin how he just got up in the morning, put on his boots and went to work. You never heard him complain or say negative things about anybody. He did his best to provide for his family, those are the people we should all look up to the most.
