Dear Danielle, (This note taken from letter directly to Danielle.)
Thank you so much for your letter telling me of dear Tressie’s passing. My guessing is that it was a shock to you all. My last Christmas letter from her she was describing her activities which seemed pretty darn active. I do hope for her that her passing was fast, though just terrible for you.
I was a student of hers at Cal State LA. She was a light in the life of her students and others who were not her students, but certainly influenced by her care and laughter. She and Jackie Hoyt were the wonderful young professors that were models to us all.
It was wonderful to stay in touch over the years. She always wanted to know how I was doing and how her colleagues at Cal State LA were doing.
Also, she loved to brag on her kids and grandkids, which I’m sure you were one. BTW, not many years ago she and Jackie joined some of her past students at a local golf course to simply catch up with all of our lives. Now, we have lost them both. Sadness in our hearts for sure.
Please know now, I will surely miss her yearly Christmas letters, but remember her happy face in my heart.
With love and sadness,
Janie Threadgold

Remembering our last conversation was truly the person you were. My phone rings it is you saying, " Hello this is Granny, Do you know Damon's phone number?, Kylee is needing to talk to her Dad she is upset that he took Karlee and left her here. I don't have Damon's number I need to get that put into my phone." Granny continues on by asking how Kyndal is and states she likes the first name picked out but not the second lol. I will miss you with all my heart Granny. You were a very special Blessing to our family. I love you always.

To Tressie’s Family,
We are so sorry for your loss of Grannie, but we know she will forever watch over you and make sure you will always be okay. She was a real treasure and our family thoroughly enjoyed the extra time we got to spend camping with her and hanging out at the races chatting. I (Holly Jo) personally looked up to Tressie after hearing her journey through her educational career. What outstanding accomplishments and not to mention the many lives she touched.
Much love to a Grannie! We hope she meets our Goomie in heaven.
Love the Shea Family
